The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Castle Hayne Equipment team.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Service, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gas/diesel-powered automotive, heavy equipment, and power tools.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Perform skilled mechanical work including the following systems:
    • Preventive maintenance
    • Tires and tubes
    • Wheels and rims
    • Cranking systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Cooling systems
    • Fuel systems
    • Hydraulic systems
 
What You Bring
  • Complete set of mechanic's tools.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement. (Don't Have It? STILL APPLY!  You can get it within 360 days of hire through our on-the-job training program).
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty truck, or heavy equipment.
  • Diagnostics experience with basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
  • Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
  • Safety toe safety shoes.
  • Ability to work in emergency situations and bad weather, such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform work meeting all safety regulations and safely operate equipment for testing.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
  • You can understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Strength and agility to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment by leading by example.
  • Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
 
Notes
  • We will conduct a pre-employment drug screening and background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
  • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
 
Education & Experience
  • High School/GED diploma, and
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
