WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Continuous Improvement Manager coordinates the implementation of lean/six sigma manufacturing principles across the site to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness while creating a continuous improvement culture. This role serves as the single point of contact for cross-functional coordination concerning site manufacturing improvement activities working in collaboration with the plant operations team. Additionally, the Continuous Improvement Manager coordinates the execution of projects designed to drive margin improvement and COGS reduction via material usage and yield, productivity, labor, organizational design and equipment utilization as well as total supply chain effectiveness.

Specific duties include:

Create and manage continuous improvement practices & ways of working including: daily management systems, problem solving methodologies, focused improvement projects, and autonomous maintenance practices.
Lead site roll-out of global Perfetti Performance Excellence program, adapted from TPM methodology.
Ownership of manufacturing cost savings portfolio, including: facilitation of ideation sessions, chartering project teams, actively working with project owners to keep projects moving, and reporting out on key portfolio measures. Deliver cost savings targets.
Measure CI processes & progress to plans for all production areas.
Lead focused improvement, and process mapping projects aimed at: reducing waste, defect elimination, productivity improvement, elimination of frustrating & difficult work
Actively use data analytics to identify improvement opportunities, as well as to prioritize & track improvement work. Implement and enhance data collection systems where appropriate.
Develop and maintain site future vision for Lean. Participate in strategic planning as part of plant leadership team, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned with site future vision.
Partner successfully with R&D and Supply Chain colleagues on project work to build one PVM team in a manner consistent with our values.
Participate in management of change, using the plan-do-check-act cycle to make change sustainable.
Develop and manage execution of learning & development plan for manufacturing employees & front line leadership.
Participate with team in meeting plant KPIs: safety, quality/food safety, service, cost, and engagement
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, Sciences, Mathematics or similar disciplines preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, 5 years of relevant experience in similar fields.
Five or more years experience in a manufacturing environment under multiple supply roles such as Shift Management, Industrial Engineering, and Site Logistics.
Comprehensive understanding of the Lean Manufacturing process including lean thinking methodology and their application to the site environment.
Experience in project management with specific experience in project execution such as implementation of SMED, lean organizational designs and 5s while utilizing lean tools like value stream mapping.
Strong numerate and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and influencing skills.
Understanding of the change management and capital appropriations processes.
