Job Description

Trinity College Community Child Center is seeking a qualified, full-time Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team of Early Childhood Educators. Our teachers work on a full-time team of three which includes a Teacher and two Teacher Assistants. We are located on the beautiful Trinity College campus and our children join us from the Trinity community, Hartford, and outlying towns.

Qualified candidates must have: -At least one year experience working with this age group (3-5 year olds) in a childcare center

-An Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but a current Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with additional experience will be considered

-Knowledge of the State of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards

-Current CPR & 1st Aid certification that meets Department of Public Health Child Daycare requirements or willing to obtain within one month of employment

-Maturity, responsibility, and a sincere interest in working with children with very strong interpersonal and organizational skills

-Physical ability and stamina to interact with children for up to 8 hours including but not limited to moving and reacting quickly, lifting and/or carrying a child, sitting on the floor or using child size furniture, participating in field trips and playground activities, going on daily walks

-Emotional capability to withstand periods of stress and respond positively under pressure

-Ability to have flexible scheduling within our 7:30 am-5:30 pm business hours

-Be creative and inspire children to learn and grow
