Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary SEN school in Torquay and are looking for Teaching Assistants to work at the school. This is a part time role to begin after the February half term.
The roles and responsibilities for the positions include:
To deliver 1:1 and small group intervention programmes.
To support pupils in improving motivation, confidence and self-esteem.
To support teachers with learning needs of specific pupils.
To work pro-actively to ensure the care and safety of all children.
The experience and skills required for this role include:
Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or similar.
Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour.
The ability to relate well to children and adults and establish positive relationships.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
A positive approach and the ability to encourage pupils.
Good use of own initiative and the ability to work as part of a team.
In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £40, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
