This position is responsible for the investigation and damage assessment of Homeowner Claims in accordance with the NJ Unfair Claims Practices Act. The environment is fast paced and requires strong customer service, organizational, verbal and written skills. The position requires patience and the ability negotiate settlements. The candidate must be able to drive a company vehicle, climb roofs, handle fire and water losses and carry 10 lbs in equipment. The position may require travel to other areas in or out of state during catastrophic events.Responsibilities Include: Surveys damage, prepares automated cost estimates Completes investigation and negotiates settlement of homeowner claims with insureds, claimants, contractors, preferred vendors and/or Public Adjusters Be accountable for the work of outside vendors, and assure a first in class customer service experience Interprets policy provisions and coverage on homeowner claims Ensure timely and appropriate reserves are placed on files in accordance to our best practices Issue drafts/payments to the appropriate parties on site Maintain an effective follow-up system on pending files (Diary Control) Advises insureds, claimants and other interested parties on the status of the claim Initiates and investigates subrogation when applicable Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Adjusts to fluctuating workload Ensure that service, loss and expense control and public relations are maintained at all times Participate in proactive team environment to achieve departmental and company goals Composing letters according to state and company compliance guidelines Other duties as assigned, which may include becoming licensed to pilot a drone Handle after hours/weekend calls on a monthly rotation basis. (2 to 3 times per year)Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or combination of 1-2 years experience and/or related training Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite product. Xactimate and Construction knowledge are helpful but not requiredOther: Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
