Responsibilities The Senior Grant Review & Support Program Analyst for the newly created Department of Computational Medicine will be responsible for a variety of duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the GRSP. The incumbant will assist with non-financial aspects of administering the program, including assisting with pre-award grants for individual, fellow, and Center proposals; managing the internal peer-review program for grants reviews; assist with grant editing; manage weekly announcement of genomics and computational funding opportunities; manage new faculty mentoring program; and facilitate with new initiatives. The position requires administrative experience in coordinating grant proposals, managing internal databases, and project management skills. The position requires excellent technical writing skills and experience in grant writing and preparation. Part of the responsibilities will be writing portions of grant proposals including budget justifications, draft letters of support, integrate sections of grants from different investigators, update bio sketches and draft grant progress reports. Supervise Dept Fund Manager. Qualifications Previous project management experience in academic environment. Background knowledge and understanding of grant preparation and submission process. Previous experience in large scale grant proposal preparation. Prior experience with scientific/technical writing and/or editing. Experience with NIH competing and non-competing applications . Ability to be responsible for developing and improving methods and procedures for all projects managed, including attention to the flow of information and communication with faculty, staff, internal and external UCLA staff. Consult with supervisor as appropriate to resolve problems or changes in assigned areas of responsibility, while retaining full accountability and control of organizing and managing work flow. Fluency in post-award financial administration. Ability to monitor and maintain detailed records and observe internal controls. Ability to create, maintain and update various databases. Ability to interpret policy and analyze data regarding operating policies and procedures. Experience in supervising staff.
