Job Title: Agronomy Operations Job Location: Hallam, NE A Day in the Life: An Agronomy Operations specialist will work in all aspects of agronomy and works hard every day to ensure that our agronomy facilities are in top-notch shape. This is a hands-on position requiring you to work outside in all kinds of weather. Your main responsibilities on a day to day basis are housekeeping and maintenance duties to keep our agronomy facilities running efficiently; as well as tendering and loading fertilizer and chemicals for applicators, filling anhydrous tanks, and working closely with agronomy. The position may require you to learn custom application, meaning you will be operating a spray rig in peak seasons and work directly with our patrons. You will also work with a wide range of equipment from: tractor/trailer, skid steers, forklifts, wheel loaders, and tractors with attachments and any other the location would require. Safety is always our number one priority and we do everything we can to ensure the safest work environments for our employees, but there are some hazards involved with working in an agronomy facility. These hazards include exposure to fertilizers and chemicals, electrical, fall, and trip hazards. The Agronomy Operations position rewards employees who pay attention, take initiative and work hard every single day to ensure that our customers are treated well and our facilities stay in good condition. The Cooperative operates under the \"all hands-on deck\" philosophy when it comes to getting things done. Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor. The incumbent works collaboratively with management to achieve system objectives.? In addition, the incumbent works cooperatively with Nursing and Ancillary Departments to deliver high quality and cost-effective laboratory services.? The incumbent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and timely and accurate blood collections that directly support the delivery of laboratory services in an integrated system. ??Obtains blood specimens by capillary puncture or venipuncture using appropriate technique. ?Correctly identifies patient per written protocol and properly labels ? specimens accurately and completely, while maintaining the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed. ?Exercises judgment in determining work priority. Interacts with nursing units to ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies. ?Disposes of contaminated lab supplies and handles all lab specimens regarding potential health hazards according to written procedures. ?Receives laboratory specimens, orders tests, processes specimens using the centrifuge and ?Distributes specimens to appropriate testing areas communicating special instructions. ?Performs general duties as required: answering phones, monitoring the pneumatic tube, ordering and distributing supplies, cleaning work areas, taking refrigerator temperatures, printing and distributing results etc. ?Maintains professional attitude with patients, visitors, hospital staff and fellow employees while assuring the confidentiality of all hospital information.
