Position Overview: City Year Boston provides hands - on learning opportunities for undergraduate students interested in non - profit administration careers. Interns will support a variety of projects that help City Year carry out our education mission by assisting in customer service, research, data collection, event execution, and more. Each intern will be matched with a specific department (descriptions below). Additionally, each intern will assist with general office operations, administrative work, event support, and data entry. Internships are typically between 10 - 20 hours per week during business hours (Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:30PM), and can be flexible with a student's academic calendar and extracurricular commitments. Please note that all internships are office based and interns do not serve in schools.Job Description: The following internships are available at City Year Boston during Fall, Spring, and Summer: DEVELOPMENT Responsibilities include donor database administration, research, and event planning assistance. Interns will learn SalesForce basic competencies and assist the development team in maintaining our extensive donor database. Interns will also work substantially on Prospect Research which allows our team to identify prospective new donors. Interns will also assist with the coordination, organization, and implementation of various fundraising events (limited to your schedule availability) and other projects as needed. HUMAN POTENTIAL AND SITE OPERATIONS Responsibilities include assisting with Human Potential initiatives, Event support (Staff Retreats and Meetings), Finance, Office Management, and Site Communication. The intern will manage monthly budget reports and summaries of a multi-million dollar budget, assist in candidate sourcing and conduct screening interviews for the internship program, support various staff human resource matters, and aid in organizational logistics and support streamlining office efficiency. DATA AND EVALUATION OPERATIONS Responsibilities include entering data in City Year s internal database, creating data summaries that help people easily interpret results for individual schools, analyzing time spent with students and share with service staff on a weekly to biweekly basis, managing and administering surveys to corps members and service partners, and providing customer service for City Year staff related to the evaluation team s responsibilities. IncentivesThis is an unpaid opportunity where interns will learn and develop a variety of highly competitive resume building skills including organization, teamwork, project planning and execution, communication skills, customer service, multi-tasking, and networking. Interns will be provided with a monthly T pass, free of charge. It is up to the applicant to determine whether they are eligible for credit, scholarship, or work-study money from their school. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in professional development days, engage in physical service, and will be paired with a manager who will serve as their mentor throughout the internship. City Year Boston interns are required to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week but many choose to work more!
